In 1996, the top grossing films were Independence Day and Titanic. They both have different types of genres this reflects how they are both popular and loved. But, also the 2 top films are about common and talked about issues. Titanic is about a real story which end up being very tragic and Independence day is about Fourth of July and all the history surrounding that. Even though they are both 2 completely different genres they both talk about a known history/topic. On the other hand, in 2006 the top grossing film that year was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest this reflects an action/adventure genre and reflect that magical aspect that Disney known for. However, the top film of the 2000’s was Avatar and that is an action/adventure/fantasy/sci-fi genre which reflects that they isn’t really any pattern but that they is a common loved genre which is obviously the mix between action/adventure and drama with those fantasy elements towards some films. These patterns are probably the case because, people love a good story plot which has a lovely ending in which the problem/consequence has been solved.  They is also, a theme running on which if a film does really well in grossing they is a possibility it gets a sequel as it appears within the years of Toy Story in 1995 and Toy Story 2 in 1999.
